  8.     PNGScan is a small Freeware program for analyzing and displaying
  9. the structure of a PNG picture file.  It can be used for error checking, or
  10. to find out exactly what a graphics application puts in its PNG files.
  11.  
  12.     For those of you who don't know this, PNG (pronounced 'Ping') is a
  13. replacement for the now obsolete GIF format.  It has all the features GIF
  14. has, with the addition of a truecolor mode.
  15.  
  16.     PNGScan displays all chunks in a PNG file (and will warn if it
  17. finds anything suspicious), and can interpret the following:
  18.     - IHDR   Header with all kinds of information
  19.     - PLTE   Palette entries.  PNGScan will show the number of colors in
  20.                  the palette.
  21.     - tEXt   Various comments, such as author, application used...

  25.     PNGScan can only be used from Shell.
